Finance & Accounting Manager

Our client is a rapidly expanding beauty distributor focused on bringing emerging Korean beauty brands to the North American market. The business has established strong partnerships with leading retailers and continues to experience significant growth as it expands its retail presence and portfolio of innovative beauty brands. Operating within an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment, the company is committed to building scalable infrastructure and long-term commercial success.

Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, the Finance & Accounting Manager will take ownership of the day-to-day financial operations of the U.S. business. This is a highly hands-on position that will oversee accounting, cash flow management, financial reporting, inventory accounting, and operational finance processes. The successful candidate will work closely with global stakeholders, external accounting partners, and cross-functional teams while helping to build and strengthen the finance function as the business continues to grow. There are no direct reports initially, although there is opportunity to support the development of the finance function over time.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial records and reporting.
• Prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. accounting standards and financial controls.
• Partner with external accounting and tax providers to support compliance activities.
• Monitor cash flow performance and maintain financial forecasts.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Manage vendor payments and banking relationships.
• Track inventory performance and support inventory reconciliations.
• Monitor cost of goods sold and inventory valuation activities.
• Produce regular financial reports and performance updates for leadership teams.
• Support communication and reporting requirements with international stakeholders.
• Assist with the implementation and optimisation of ERP and financial systems.
• Develop scalable accounting processes, controls, and reporting procedures.
• Support payroll coordination, employee administration, and finance-related business operations.
• Provide financial insights to support business planning and decision-making.

Requirements

• Experience working within accounting and finance functions in a consumer goods, beauty, wellness, retail, or CPG business.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, month-end close, and accounting operations.
• Understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial compliance requirements.
• Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and treasury activities.
• Knowledge of cash flow management, forecasting, and liquidity planning.
• Experience with inventory accounting, inventory valuation, and cost of goods sold.
• Ability to prepare and analyse financial statements and management reports.
• Experience working with ERP and accounting systems.
• Comfortable partnering with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors.
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Experience supporting operational and business growth initiatives.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across international teams.
• Adaptable, proactive, and comfortable working within a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
• Experience within wholesale, retail, or distribution businesses supplying major retailers is highly desirable.
